Man, it's a tough choice. I think the Droid won't "kill" the iPhone, but it will make a considerable dent into the iPhone market share, and may completely "kill" the Palm Pre. The Droid is a beast of a device and offers everything that the iPhone can with the exception of the millions of apps Apple offers. I've been waiting for this device for a little over a year now, and I hope I can afford the Droid!

Sounds like a worthwhile investment to me, but also make sure that it suits your needs in addition to good pricing. Curious, what are you using now?

I was planning on buying this when it came out, not because it's like an iPhone... but because I want an Android phone (and there aren't too many cool phones on Verizon). After doing a little bit of research, I found out that for $50 less a month than what I'm paying on Verizon I can have unlimited text and data on Sprint. So now I'm thinking about switching and getting the HTC Hero (with thanks to Corey H. and Edwin V. for talking it up so much).

P.S. I was meaning to wait on asking you this question, but I really would like to feature you on a new but long-term project of mine called How iMac. I imagine you glanced at it while you were on my blog. It would be really awesome if you could. I'd feature you in January 2010--I only do a feature per month for practical reasons. And also, the current lineup of featured people is a bit male-heavy. So... Let me know, either way!

Thanks for the mention .. and to answer your question, it was all accidental. Most of the popular youtubers just started making videos because it was something they enjoyed and were passionate about. A lot of us have been very lucky to be able to turn our love of entertaining and video making into a career -- a very different career but one nonetheless :)

Ditto here. Just last night... I didn't even shut down, I just closed it to get some grub. 20 minutes later, upon opening it back up... I got the infamous M.B.S.D. (The Mac Black Screen of Death. I ran the drill, shut down, reboot, take the battery out for 10 seconds... nada. After a visit to the Genius Bar, like you I was happy it was a relatively cheap fix...Free. Just inconvenienced with the 5-7 day turnaround. The have to ship it off site

Ha! That is fantastic news. I had seen your earlier post about parts hold, and was expecting a drawn out drama.

I just bought myself tickets for a 'very long weekend' next week, and will put my MBP into the shop the day before I leave. Hopefully everything goes well, and I'll have it ready and waiting for me when I return.

About the Time Machine. Yes! It's a worthwhile investment. Not only does it regularly back up your Mac, it allows you to literally go back in time and select files from previous backups that you may have since deleted or modified. When ever you may have the moolah to spend on it, I would highly recommend it.

Same exact thing to the "t" indeed! In fact, It took approximately two weeks as of yesterday for ship off, repair, delay for parts, and ship back. I certainly hope it won't take that long for you because I was beginning to feel the hurt in my projects by the end of the first week of waiting. So I'm hoping for a speedy return of your Mac! :)

You're very welcome Stu! Btw, I don't know if you had a chance to pop back by my blog, but I got my MBP back yesterday morning. They went above and beyond the call of duty. My Mac actually had a lot of other issues that I couldn't afford to fix, and they just decided to go ahead and fix everything free of charge. I was so elated when. Edited to add: The genius also told me 5 days, which I think is their standard reply. (Overnight to the TX repair facility, 1-2 days diagnosis & repair, overnight back to MA.) It's now been 5 business days, but it looks like I need to settle in for a longer wait.

I did have them image my hard drive before they shipped it from the store. That $150 makes the $300 time machine look like a good investment. (But that ball is in my employer's court.) At least I'd backed up my base files, if not all of my links/packages, so I can work on a colleague's iMac on a few of my projects.
